Why White Coffee?
White coffee is roasted at a much lower temperature than traditional coffee, which preserves more of the bean’s natural antioxidants and nutrients. This lighter roast results in significantly higher caffeine content, giving you a stronger energy boost without the bitterness of dark roasts. The lower roasting temperature also means less acidity, making it gentler on your stomach while offering a smoother, slightly nutty flavor. In short, white coffee delivers more antioxidants, more caffeine, and a cleaner taste compared to regular coffee.
Brewing Methods
White coffee is best enjoyed when brewed in ways that highlight its smooth, nutty flavor and lighter body compared to traditional roasts. Since it’s roasted at a lower temperature, the beans are denser and require a slightly finer grind for optimal extraction.
Our favorite way to enjoy Ode is with an espresso machine. It results in a bolder, highly caffeinated shot best softened with milk or a flavored syrup.
Pour-over methods, such as a Chemex or V60, are excellent because they can bring out its nutty, tea-like qualities while avoiding bitterness.
Personal favorite white coffee set up/drink is iced white chocolate mocha.
